Whew, I really enjoyed the process!
I was honestly pretty nervous about transitioning from grayscale to color — I was afraid I’d completely mess it up 😅 But I’m really glad I gave it a try, because I ended up liking the final result a lot!
I also really love Dave’s style — I feel like it clicks with me more intuitively and feels more natural to follow.
I just noticed that the summer sale on Proko started, so now I’m seriously considering picking up Dave’s characters course too 👀

I'll show you how to take your weapon design through the final polish phase. We will add magical effects, glows, and energy wisps to give the composition more life. I will explain how to use your eraser tool to shape these effects so they look natural instead of just using a standard brush shape. Then, we will refine the details by adding glints, deepening shadows, and painting in some realistic wear and tear. Finally, I will walk you through using a multiply layer for a subtle vignette and adjusting your curves to control contrast and make the final piece stand out.
