LESSON NOTES
What's in Premium?
I will walk you through my process for moving from a rough sketch to full color and rendering. We start by blocking in local colors and carving out the forms of the weapon. A major focus in this lesson is keeping your shadows interesting. I avoid flat black shadows. Instead, I will show you how to pull rich colors into your shadow shapes to give your design more life.
We will also clean up muddy areas left over from the sketch phase. You will learn how to refine the silhouette and add realistic wear and tear to the metal. I will show you how to fix parts of the painting that are not working and build confidence in your final design.

Moving to local color often creates muddy shadows. Bring your concept art to life by injecting rich colors into your darks and refining your silhouette while you render.
