I received my very first charcoal pencil 2 hours ago, and sketched a random figure with it, after using a classic everyday sharpener. (yeah I don't have a blade to do some custom stuff, and I'm certainly too inexperienced to need this anyway)
Verdict : it's really comfortable to use, especially for shadowing and quick gestural lines. However, I felt like I was more in control of my sharp lines and details with graphite, so maybe I will mix my tools a bit.
