I used two of the colour samples one for direct daylight and the other for direct creepy nightlight.

I feel like my initial ambient occlusion pass had too much directionality baked in - that made it challenging to change the direction of the directional light.

Not really happy with how this came out

I love the third one with the saturated hot slope on the plant, it draws my eye in and then on to the fairy.

Direct light on week 1's assignments with the most concern over getting accurate shadows. Monsters with one and two different light sources, only taking direct light and ambient occlusion in consideration; I also haven't really applied much light falloff, but I'll try to give that more importance during the next weeks.
Martin Vrkljan
I think I might've done these too subtly.

Hi Vin if the horizon line faded more to blue and was higher to match the perspective in the image, around top of the bucket, the scene would have more depth, with an atmosphere from the sun and sky light. The hotspot of orange next to the well is distracting from the beautiful subtle lighting you have formed on the objects, especially on the bucket.. I like your lighting on the objects a lot, reminds me of end of the day.
