- Draw a minimum of 30 cylinders freehand.
- Draw 20 cylinders that share the same 1P perspective space.
- Draw 20 cylinders that share the same horizon line in the same 2p perspective space.

I know there aren’t many drawings, but I wanted to make sure I was on the right track, especially with the 2 pp.

Is anything except the cylinder count incorrect?
Any feedback is welcome 🙏😊

Hi there! Please let me know if there are anything incorrect with my assignment submission.
Would love to know specifically if cylinders 1, 6, 7, 8, 14 and 18 in assignment 2 are correctly drawn and are still considered a 1-point perspective. Thanks!

The ellipses on 6, 7, and 14 are too pointed on one side but otherwise I believe they would technically be one point the way they are drawn. I believe the taller, upright ones would be better served with a vanishing point going down, making them 2pp.
1, 8, and 18 have ellipses that don't share the same minor axis so one end or another look to be cut off at odd angles.

Personally, I want to be able to draw both, traditionally & digitally. So, my assignment is twice that.

Wow! Good for you to it in both mediums! I don't think I have the focus to double my assignments. 😄

I had the most difficulty with the 2pp. I am not sure how successful I was.

Free hand was fun. 1 and 2 pt was a bit difficult to do in the beginning without a guide. But after practicing a few with a guide I gave it another go without one.

This was a humbling exercise for me. Took way longer to wrap my head around than I expected and I still feel like my 2 point stuff feels a bit tenuous. I tried doing a variety of different points along the same horizon which i am really not used to. I feel kinda unsure on whether or not they look right.

decided to go extra scary and use pen and paper lol. Feedback welcome!

Hello everyone, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but my two ellipsis are looking very different from one another, the one closer to VP1 looks so much wider?
I guess there is something off, but I can't tell what it is.
Happy practicing!

The one in the far left looks more smashed because your square isn't perfect. Remember that a perfectly round circle can only exist within a perfect square. Not only must the perfect square have 90 degree angles, but the length of each side must be the same. Hope that helps.

I'm having trouble doing exercise number 3 @@, anyone have any tips?

if you haven't already tried, I did a few practices on a 2 point perspective grid to try to train my eye to notice tapering before I attempted without a grid.

Hello. Here is my assignment work. I've always struggled with cylinders, but the book recommendation plus the instructional video above I think has helped a lot. The HL and VP for the 1 point perspective is near the center and slightly up. The HL for the 2 point perspective is very high up, and I tried shifting VPs labeled with A, B, C, D.

Long time no see Antonio, been a while since Adam's mentorship lol. As soon as a saw your course on Proko, knew it would be my first class. Still so blown away by you ability and your ability to teach effectively. I've always really struggled with perspective, but it's honestly cause I didn't put in the work. But It's time to get working on it lol Critique me harshly, of course when you have the time! So excited for this course!

My first assignment! As I usually draw digitally, done this on my tablet as well, but without any stabilization whatsoever. Did erase though 😬 Proved to be harder than I thought, will try to make my lines more intentional. I feel like on paper you get some stabilization just through friction alone.

Here are my cylinders for module 1 part 1. I know I made a few mistakes but I appreciate feedback on how to do better

Hi, I attempted the exercise with a moderate success
1yr
Make sure your minor axis is converging towards a point that's on the HL (in assignment 3, cylinders 20, 10, 15 aren't doing this. + in a 2pp; when the minor axis is perpendicular to the HL, this will be a vertical cylinder. (if you'd construct this in a box, the ellipses will be placed in the top and bottom plane of that box.) You have some cylinders where the minor axis is vertical but you've drawn the cylinder as if we are looking straight at it
