Learn the three basic sectional planes—sagittal, coronal, and transverse—for building form in perspective drawing.

Made up my own mnemonics for the section types. Transverse – reminds me of multiverse > Dr. Strange > that scene where Loki falls through his portal (it's on the transversal plane) Coronal – sounds similar like Colonel > the typical salute pose usually done frontally Sagittal – this one is dirty and veeery specific, but it's soooo cringe you gonna definitely remember it if you know German and AoT xD > sagittal sounds like »Sack« in German (if you know you know).. and then think about Marco from AoT who famously died by being torn into halves... and now imagine his »Sack« got halved too .. well it most probably did ... yeah .. xD. Also his military division symbol is like an X too Maybe these fruits of my weird mind help someone else here too.

Haha were those animations just an excuse to set stan on fire? Was that stan?
Dedee Anderson Ganda
I kinda relate the sections as scanner. Imagine a person or an object is being scanned from top to bottom, wiung wiung wiung.. That's Transverse! Oh another scanner scanning from right to left, wiung wiung wiung.. Ok that's Sagittal. Third Scanner! This time it's scanning the object from front to back, bzzt bzzt bzzt, thanks Coronal. Tbh the names are still something hard to remember, I wonder if there're easier names to call them,
Li Ming Lin
For Sagittal, I was thinking of it like 'sag'ging down the middle and then it creates slops on the left and right. If that helps make it easier to remember.

Amazing explanation and animation. Your laugh was somewhat disturbing, throughout, though! Was Stan hurt during the stunts, in making this animation? I was surprised you put water in the pool! Thanks :)
Marshall Vandruff
Yeah, I got pretty sadistic there, but Stan seems to be more okay with it than getting sung to.
