Hi there! Finally got a chance again to slowly practice sculpting! Been putting this off for few months due to finishing my final creature project for a mentorship. But here's some torso study progress I did for the Mold-making lesson later on and I thought I'd share it here as well!

Hi there! I think generally the sculpture is done and after doing some trimming and a bit of cleaning, I will finally make a simple mold cast. See you on the other side!

Hello there, I have not forgotten this course at all! I have been trying to finish my Creature Concept Art in 3D mentorship that I can only do this study every few hour every day. I really enjoyed doing bas relief sculpture and thought it would be great if I did a cat portrait as well. Here is the first attempt and the recent one after working on it and improving again. I think I grasped the theory of bas relief, feels like straightforward at first but it's easy to make it look "flat". Looking forward to practice more of these!

Nicely done! The first thing that comes to mind is that the forms of the face of the cat might not have sufficient underlying structure of the rounded shape of the head. the large brow and cheeks makes it look a little less feline in the second image. It's a great study though and with every sculpture you'll get better so keep it up and I look forward to seeing more!

I love that the premium lessons I watched so far can be applied to many type of sculpting style and works, instead of only following one way of doing it. I've always been interested in more modern commercial sculpture like you find in games in Asia, so I thought I'd give the opportunity to utilize the space to share my progress and my work :) Will share more later on! I can feel the improvement before and after taking the premium courses. The last image was when before I took the premium course, different character but the same IP.

Hey it's great to see that you're practicing and trying to apply the lessons from the premium course!

Hi, Thanks for previous comments. The size of the head is adjusted, thickness of the arms, and surface smoothed. The lesson on that was really helpful. I am still working on the facial expression, and I am grateful for any suggestions and comments.

This is great! Getting much better! Is there anything you feel isn't working at this point in the sculpture?
