Hello everyone, I was looking for some feedback on the design of this castle. So the story goes like this, There was a very evil and wealthy king who had a huge castle in the mountains where the winter never ends. In a huge battle he lost all his money and his castle was destroyed. Does the design portray the description? Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me out.

Hello everyone, I did a redesign of the castle as I wasn't happy with the original. These are some of the design explorations I did for the redesign. Please let me know which one is your favorite. Thanks for your valuable time.

The shapes of 4 and 5 look a lot like ones that would fit into Tolkiens universe. If you are going for a Castle that wasnt fully constructed I would lean more into the skeletal looking framework or general cunstruction site tools. If its also in ruins you could include bits and pieces that broke off and are lying to its side.

Awesome! I like 5 and 8 :) 6 as well just because it looks huge- I noticed you made a new post on the designs so I'll head on over there!

I really like the 5 being on the mountain and it looks "evil" also. The design of the 8 is pretty cool also

Hello everyone, I just completed an Environment Concept Art piece. This is a half destroyed Evil Palace and the owners have grown to be really poor and so they are not bale to repair the damages. What do you guys think about the final design of the Palace and where do you think I need to work more. Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to help me out! Have a wonderful day ahead.

Hey @Atharva Lotake! Solid! I attached some feedback below- I took a step back and focused on the concept stage here. Your illustration reads clearly already so the biggest improvement for me would be to exaggerate the design and integrate more of your story. (I did sketches that are more fantastical- but even if you veer towards realism you can still explore interesting silhouettes by designing the shapes of frozen debris and toppled walls.) Either way I'm happy to see you posting more of your work! Thanks for sharing :)

Looks great tbh. love the depth and the concept! I agree that it would use some color variation tho. Did you blur the background after painting it? maybe try to paint it softer from the start? would be a nicer effect I think. Already like it though :)

Also, All the flags are the same shape, size and color. Plus the castle is all one color. You need to color shift as you darken or lighten your colors. The castle would have mold, so maybe some greens and browns as an example. Hope that helps :)

There is no snow on the mountains. If it's always winter there should be snow everywhere. If you add snow covered mountains around the castle, it will help it stand out better.

Hi @Atharva Lotake I like the different darknesses of grey in your picture. Nevertheless I think it would be better to remove the mountain behind the castle to make it stand out even more. For me the damages are not visible enough. I think you should try to make the damages more visible in the sillhouette of the castle. There is this destroyed tower on the left. Maybe make it a taller and let us see the bricks. At the moment it could be a rock. And is the figure in the front a centaur? If not I propose that you also draw the head of the horse.
