Second attempt at the pear.Tried to add more tone changes and to be a little darker(scared to go dark for some reason.) Thank you for any feedback.

Your values are distributed rather evenly from step to step, but the shadow seems to be shaded with one of the lighter steps. It helps to squint at the image to discern light vs dark. While there is a value change within the shadow side, it's still part of the dark group, so adding in a value from the light side breaks up the separation. You can distribute the values with the lightest three for the light side, and two for the dark, so the darkest two values alone can be used to make up the shadow.
Nice! I think you could use another transitional tone. Right now, the harsh separation makes the bottom left bulge look like it's jutting out too far, a transitional tone will help smooth that out a bit, and also the reflected light in the shadows is too light of a tone on yours currently. Hope that helps!
