First was a focus on a graphic image. Second trying to create a focal point while letting the rest of the drawing fade away, Third, focus on weight. Last, focus on light source (probably went too far on this but it was fun)

I'm somewat behind, constantly :( but I finally did these assigments. (not watched Proko's solution to this yet) 1. is with the weight lines of importance (I picked the head with the horns to be the important thing) 2. & 3. are shadow and light lines. 2. attempt seemed too bad to me so I tried to improve upon it with the 3. try.

I'm a bit late.. again.. but i got to it now. I still feel like I don't really know what I'm doing or even if I'm doing it right. And I try to remember CSI, but occassionally still forget to think about it. I did more precise (#1, 2, 4 (I consider these to be the "canon" ones)) and more loose tries (#3, 5) of the hand and the person, but not sure which is better in what we were supposed to do. But I like the "more precise" ones better. Even tho they appear to have some slight proportional problems (I dunno how that hunch on the pengiun has appeared) and maybe less obvious loosness (and #5 is a bit squished, cause I started a bit too low). (also I forgot my eraser at home, lol, so no lines were erased, gonna have to buy a new one tomorrow)

28:40 oh, I also thought C curves should resemble a C more and that the first one still false under "straight line" even if a bit bendy. All those others, I didnt even think that could be C curve and that they are supposed to be this versatile. Makes sense, but I thought the lines are supposed to resemble C a bit more :D

again a bit later, finally done the booths, also finally passed 14 day challenge, yay! but the problem I seem to have is forgetting to think about CSI properly, cause I am focusing on drawing what I see and so I hit the right spots and also trying to not have it in too many tiny fuzzy strokes.. and the lines are.. not sure this can be called CSI? but hoepfully, cause some of them are curvy, some bendy.. and not much place for too many straights. I feel like I'm doing it horribly wrong :( (havent seen the video yet)

Hi.. im a bit late, still hitting that 14 day challenge, so I havent watched the "solution video" yet, but this is my snail attempt :/ (they are the same, but just in case, different lighting). also tried to keep as few strokes as possible (not always entirely successfully) I feel like I have it utterly wrong, ah.. tomorrow I'll get to the boots and then to the "solution video" :/

Hi, what exactly does "linear drawing" mean? Only outlines?

This was fun! Much harder than it looks, especially controlling the pressure on the pencil.

yeah, the pressure is hard.. seems like on of those things you'll start doing without thinking only after you've done at least 10 000 circles with purpose to control the pressure exactly when you want to.. :D

Not sure I get it right.. I tried to draw with entire arm (also just realized the Shroom is supposed to have very thin eyes.. welp, that's what I get for not playing on Nintendo)

Very informative, thank you. Also enjoyed the sneak peak of what's to come ahead! I have a bunch of toned paper ready for that lesson in the future! Happy that next lessons will be about lines, I often struggle with those.

i have some too, luckily, for the first time, but not sure about the white pencil.. i have one that is really a struggle to draw with cause it feels slippery. And then I have a white pen like in the video.. and nothing in-between so I'm hoping that whatever will be the suggestion as the best solution (some specific brand) for that problem (probably some greyish pen for buying) that it will be available in my country, cause sometimes these things are harder to get here than in the US :D (but maybe whatever grey pen will be enough.. I think I have some old grey pastel pencil somewhere.. )

Hi, I am a bit late for critique but hopefully someone will see it. First two I made first on my own, and second image is with following Proko. Other images are the referenced pears I used. And I have only 2B and 8B so I was balancing them out (but rest of the pencils in-bewteen should come during the week) (edit: they came today! nice) (plus one bonus pear in the end with a looser style) Thank you

A bit disappointed that I posted my drawings in the comments instead of the assignment tab but it was great to see everyone else's work and learn from the critique.

Hi! at 58:10 when you say "Volume is in the lights, atmosphere is in the shadows." after working on a portrait of your picture where you've put shadows into one value without details, you mention: "With one value, we can't really show much atmosphere, but once we actually start showing softer edges, we can make the shadows a little more airy or softer, *less information*, less contrast, more texture, and just more it feels more like there's particles in the air in that area." Im a bit confused about "less information" in this context. Cause isnt there less info when put the shadow into one value? Or with planes and simplifying, when put into one color, it is supposed to articulate plethora of information in a simplified way? I think i have it wrong, cause you also threw everything into shadow to omit the detail cause it was not important.. sorry, hope this makes some sort of sense, cause I'm trying to wrap my head around this meaning :D I understand that when it no longer will be planes, it will be softer and thus we can put in more information.. but that's more, not less, so I'm missing some meaning here by the looks of it. :D Thank you!!
