I feel like this is an improvement on my previous one. Focusing on the contour line helped. Not sure about the highlight though.

Asked for help
Hey there! Here is my submission. This was a cool project, especially since I’ve been wanted to sink my teeth into shading and light. Overall, I think I did okay. The two main things I struggled with are 1) continuing the shadow in a way that communicates it going around the form (I feel as thought it feels a bit flat) and 2) placing my highlight in a way that doesn’t feel misplaced. Thank you in advance for any feedfack!

Call back to the cross contour lesson in the last section. Maybe try sketching a few spheres and find the cross contour lines, drawing all the way through, to help you get a feel for the shape. That should help you place your shadow.

I struggled on the fifth one when it came to wrinkles. Otherwise, very fun exercise!
@optix
Did these before watching the demo. You were right. This was an fun exercise. Very therapeutic. I think one thing I might struggle with is getting caught up in the details. I can feel myself getting particular on the second study about where the cows' legs are and the different shadows between them.

I really liked this assignment. I was trying to do my best to make sure there weren’t telltale signs of an immediate switch to a different value, but the lighter values were difficult.

Did the hammer. And I felt solid on the top view, but bottom view was very difficult. I was listening to critiques and I may have an issue with perspective, but also with technicality. I tend to rush things and get impatient with the planning process. Does anyone have advice on how to be better at this?

Tough assignment. I kind of agree that imagining boxes was a little harder. I still had trouble with #18 and how to twist it. Specifically on how to do the side plane. Any tips on future situations where I might encounter similar twisting?

That was really fun to go through. I'm been having trouble to gestures, so I'm hoping this helps me figure things out more.
@optix
I did the first three before watching the demo, and then the last three after watching the demo. I really enjoyed the exercise. One thing I'm concerned about is if I am losing the gesture with details. I can figure out the gesture line, but I don't know if my shapes look dynamic enough.
@optix
I did the demo animals, as well as other animals. For some of them, I need to look into simplifying shapes more and not just doing random shapes.
