This turned into a rucksack more than a backpack.

Day 2. Very odd looking toy car with way too small wheels!

Oh, I just saw this challenge, I'm a day behind! Ugh, I really need this challenge by the look of how my fire hydrant turned out... For some reason I keep taking photos of random fire hydrants so wanted to base the drawing of the last one I photographed. Not very creative though...

I felt this was way too advanced for me with no anatomy knowledge. At least I trained my eye to spot landmarks as a way to measure from but I think I need to study anatomy and then come back to this. I also struggle with the tools as I can't find newsprint paper here and use paper with more tooth. Graphite becomes too faint and charcoal becomes too harsh and scratchy. Oh well, practice, practice...

Not sure I'm being accurate enough as I feel I put the circles down randomly (or maybe it's intuitively?)

Yesterday was a very busy day, so forgot to post my sketch!

Well done for sketching even on a busy day!

My lack of planning is leading me to draw whatever is in front of me. Might be a feature and not a bug--not sure yet.

I am trying to form a habit of bringing my sketchbook with me every time I go out, but so far I have forgotten most times! Drawing a boring object inside can be a nice 'punishment' maybe!

Thought I'd get involved with this challenge. Here's a very quick and sketchy one of my dog. He's a lot better looking in real life 🤣

I went to the Virginia Renaissance Faire today and did some sketches.

This definitely started as an observational study.
Honest!

I rushed through this because I'm trying to get to bed, but I think it's better to rush through it than to skip it when building a habit. Tonight is what James Clear, author of "Atomic Habits" would describe as a placeholder habit. Even if you only have two minutes give it the two minutes so that you can improve on the habit as you go. This was nine minutes, so in a way, I'm overachieving;)

Well done for sticking to it!! I’m doing the same thing but always prioritise the course assignments so sadly not many observational drawings from life from me lately. The daily habit forming is really beneficial!

Not quite in the zone on this one, but glad I was able to get some paint to paper for a little while.

I want to start working watercolor sketching into these daily sketches. Part of the challenge is making sure I can get into it quickly. I bought some pens that have refillable water cartridges and I think that's going to help. Anything that requires a lot of setup and breakdown won't get done often.

Thought I’d challenge myself by drawing something quickly whilst standing up so that maybe I wouldn’t spend so much time on details. Tried to focus more on structures…

I should probably simplify even more into geometric shapes on these...

Previously I was too lazy to erase mistakes but here the eraser was used to max capacity...
