Need advice. Thinking of doing a series of Fan Art portraits in order to sell them to get some money for materials and some health issues. This I did in digital, but I was thinking traditional Oils 10 x 9. What's your opinion guys, or if you have any suggestions.
Here's another submition. This is a concept study!

The likeness is on point, maybe the color is a little monochromatic on the skinn. But you did great. Keep up the good work.

oh man! yhe ears the eyebrows and you absolutely nailed the temple's on his head , as well as the beard the lips and the nose 👌👌👌👌👌
if you wear to change anything with it i would enlarge his right eye just a tiny bit if possible its ok if not ,
but 2st thing is i would darken up certain area's , other than that, well that's it
anyway looks great and yes i do believe that you caught his like ness indeed ✌😉

Thanks Jdn, really apreciate your analysis. Sometimes it's hard to see those little value chnages, but you're right, a little more contrast in sartain areas would help. I think I'm gonna leave it as is, since it's a study, but I do see what you mean with those changes. I really enjoyed this one. I used Loomis and it helped with the values and the plane changes. Happy sbrush strokes

Didn't have a chance to work on the last Challenge, but at least I made a sketch of the reference. Need help with the reflections on top of the bug at the back where the wings come out. I didn't quite get it to look natural. Any advice!

I'm not that great at composition but I'm glad you're gonna paint it traditionally. I think it's great you're experimenting with your rposses. Hope you have fun painting.

Really like it already!:)! As for the section where the light shines through the fabric there; you could maybe experiment with making it a little softer? Maybe it is a little to uniform and the light is coming through a little too strong? Hard to imagine what's its structure would be not knowing where the body ends so you could do whatever's more visually pleasing in my opinion:) Maybe have a little light shine on it to unify it a little more? I did a little paint over of how I would approach it, maybe will give you some ideas!:) Wanna see the oil paintings when they're finished!

Hi guys. Working digitally on this concept for a series of paintings. The final pieces will be in oil. I'll be posting them for you to give me some feedback. It's not a finished piece but a study. I have doubts about the back of the fabric where the light hits it from behind. .
Looks great. Love the one in the middle

This is my first final work in a long while, maybe 18 months. So happy to eventually have worked out something that's not just an exercise.
It's an application of triangular composition to a symbolic subject.
Dip pen, manga nibs, indian ink on bristol paper.
I'm experiencing some issues with the ink I'm using (Encre de Chine - by Herbin). Not dark as I'd like and it dries too fast on the nib.
I tried Sennelier too but it gives a glossy effect if the layer is too thick. I want it matt.
Any suggestions about brands I could try ? Thought about something from manga world ?:)
