i actually did the sharp lines this time xD, watching the demo helped a little more with my shading but it’s something i definitely still need work on

I agree, the overall shape of your pear looks great. You have a good eye for proportions. Something you can improve on is designing your value shapes to follow the form of the pear.
I put together this tip sheet using a screenshot from the video of the pear that has been simplified to planes -- I really like this image because I think it expresses the core idea of the project well. Think of a wireframe covering the pear. Each "plane" that makes up the wireframe will be facing towards or away from the light source at varying degrees which will determine how much light it receives. The planes that are more directly facing the light source will be lighter in value, and the planes facing away from the light source will be darker in value.
It's like putting together a puzzle using these geometric pieces -- using 5 values, how will you build this pear to best express those value changes?
Something else that helps organize your values is to start by making a clear separation between the light and dark value areas. A common way to do so is to divide your 5 values as 2 dark values and 3 light values. Keep the majority of your dark values on the dark side and light values on the light side and that will give your drawing clarity of form.
Hope this helps :)
