I struggled under the pear where the shadow meets the pear in the darkest shade. Then, my background ruined my shadow 🤣 I feel like I learned a ton!

I'm not sure if I've illustrated it completely, but I noticed a couple of things.
1. The rib cage's center of mass is too high up. Remember that it's thickest about 2/3rds of the way down.
2. The lumbar section is a little long. A fist should fit between the Iliac crest and the bottom of the ribs in a neutral pose.
3. The clavicle connects to the scapula, not the humerus.
4. It may depend on what you wanted the arms to do, but I'd argue the scapula should be pushed out more. Remember that they can move independently of the rib cage.
I've tried to draw what I mean especially the pushed out scapula, but I'm not that good at drawing on my computer. Let me know if you need anything else.

The struggle is real. Anyone else?
1/2 of my family hates me because I see naked people. The other half understands. That's where the struggle is for me. I don't know if I'll ever overcome their shameful attitude... see how I flipped that?
I feel your pain. It is definitely uncomfortable, especially if you have never been exposed to this sort of thing.
My children have seen naked people since they were born now 30 and 32. My Daughters children now 7 and 4 have also seen naked people since they were born. Makes less of an issue with nudity. Everyone is totally relaxed with nudity.

Quick question. I'm planning on mostly working with pencils, one large sketchbook for home and one smaller one for work/other places. However, I would also like to try using inking mediums as I have some microbon pens laying around my room. Should I get another book specifically for inking or is it okay to alternate mediums in one sketchbook?
Your inks may bleed through to the next page. If it’s truly thin paper, I use a sheet behind it. I mix my mediums all the time.

What are some GOOD charcoal brands? I used to love charcoal in high school and would like to try some.
I'm currently using the Faber-Castell PITT medium and am enjoying it. The one with the soft tip is still too soft for me.

I've been hoarding art supplies for years! Little did I know that I was preparing for this course 🤣
I feel that if you have the stuffs it should be used. I want to pass on my attempts at putting joy on paper rather than a bunch of unused supplies.

Some tool scribbles and swatches.
If there's one thing I wish I had known when I first picked up some pencils, it would be to swatch out your materials in the most efficient yet fun way possible.
These references are invaluable to me. It's virtually impossible to get the outside color to directly match the medium's output.
I find that after I've made all my swatches, I basically ignore them - Now I know why - I can't ever match anything exactly anyhow.
