ASSIGNMENTS

Your assignment here is to download the provided assignment, and mirror the images provided.

So much of drawing is keeping it intuitive and methodical. This particular exercise is trying to get you guys to learn about comparative measurement. Once you're able to guarantee a shape is in the right spot every time, you'll easily be able to draw anything from observation. Once you get everything in its proper place, adding everything else is just a walk in the park.

This whole part of the course is deceptively simple, don't over complicate it and try not to get frustrated. Good luck!

I am really enjoying your amazing course! can't wait to start painting.

You did real good with this, although the eye has a little bit of your own knowledge rather than just pure observation and if you use rapid eye movement, back-and-forth from one side to the next try and see where your eye is off

Not easy! Definitely not perfect. Amazing how effective turning it upside down regularly is... @Morgan Weistling that mirror rig you've got should be in the materials list! 🤪😆 Enjoying the content. Thank you.

I'm not nearly accomplished enough to render this effectively. Hoping this is primarily a proportions exercise.

Whow! This was definitely a study in concentration and patience! I have never been very patient with mirroring. I do not like it. I have ignored it! This was a good assignment for me. I have gotten to the point, with the sculpture head, where I am saying " Somebody stop me!" Before I totally ruin it. That hair shape!?! ;-)

Hi I am a senior citizen returning to drawing and painting after years as an art teacher and a jewelry craftperson. The most difficult part of the assignment so far has been understanding the online experience . .It took a few days working several hours to do the assignment and 2 weeks to understand how to upload it . Finally support at Proko came to the recue. I didn't know I could email Morgan. I learned so much doing the drawing, watching Morgan's videos and reading the critiques. I just learned that mapping the outline of the dark , medium, and light mass shapes you could then fill the tones in quickly. What I did was crawl along with my pencil until it felt right. This was sooo slow.

Pencil on tracing paper, put over the copy. The cheek became too smudgy and I kept seeing things that could be better. Great exercise!

Got this assignment completed. Certainly a fun exercise to come up with creative ways to solve the problem. Definitely not as easy as it looks.

Excellent job. You match the rendering very well. Just a little off on your width of the jaw

Here is my mirror assignment. Any feedback would be appreciated! Fyi, the paper folded accidentally, so it looks like a dark streak on his eye/forehead.
Morgan Weistling
excellent!
