Join me for a focused, 6-week workshop built around the Practical Perspective Course. Each week we’ll meet live for 3 hours to review concepts, sharpen your fundamentals, and push your sketching skills forward through critique, demos, and guided assignments. We'll start with simple 1 point perspective and move into spherical perspective as well as managing characters in complex scenes.

About Me

I’m Rembert Montald, a Belgian artist and former Riot Games illustrator. Most of my professional work has been for games and big projects, but honestly, the thing that’s kept me improving the most is my sketchbooks. That’s where I test ideas, practice, and just play.

This course is my way of sharing that process with you. By the end, my hope is that sketching feels less like a chore and more like something you can’t wait to do every day.

What you will learn

1Basic Perspective Types

Work through one, two, and three-point perspective, from the flat theater-stage feel of one-point to the dynamic drama of three. See corners instead of flat fronts, play with high and low horizon lines, and lean on overlaps to build depth.

2Four-Point and Fisheye Perspective

Learn how to use waving middle lines and chained fisheyes to build dynamic, immersive scenes without rigid grids.

3Reverse Engineering the Grid

Draw the object first and let the perspective obey it. Place a table, a plane, or a motorcycle exactly where you want it, then build the grid backward from there

4Drawing on Location

Apply perspective to real-world subjects like planes, motorcycles, boats, stairs, and even the inside of a car.

5Perspective Tricks

Treat every complex object as a simple box and carve the details out from there, use an X to place objects, and more.

6Thumbnailing and Composition

Use thumbnails to plan horizon lines, vanishing points, and where to place foreground and background elements for interesting compositions.

What's the difference between Participation and Audit seats?

The participation seat gives you full live access to the class lectures every week to ask questions to me directly, as well as an opportunity to receive feedback directly from me on your assignment submissions.

The audit seat will give you the chance to watch the lectures in real time, but there won't be any chance for critique or to ask questions.

Do I get the VOD course free with the workshop?

No. The pre-recorded VOD course is a separate purchase that will have its own specific premium content. You can purchase that here.

Will the lecture be up to watch later?

Yes! The lectures will be up for 3 months to give you time to watch.
