In the solution image, I was surprised to see no ambient occlusion where the cone meets the cylinder. Wouldn't the shadow be darker where these two forms meet?
So many mistakes xD. Mainly where the terminator was supposed to go. However I did learn a lot about what my weaknesses are.
I made lots of mistakes but I have come so far!!!! when I started this course knew nothing about how to even read an image for value but now I can at least read and estimate where values are meant to be, I make a lot of mistakes but for a beginner that is a lot of progress. Thank you DORIAN
Somehow I end up overcomplicating shapes. And forget that a bottle is a combined shape, which makes me forget the cast shadow of the top cylinder...
Discovered that there are some knowledge/awareness gaps considering more complex objects and how cast shadows fall on them. A very welcome addition to this course would be a video on how to figure out, let's say, if the bottom part of a cylinder, such as the bottom of the "arrow" shape in Lvl 2, gets any light. Very sneaky and humbling exercise!
