LESSON NOTES

What's in Premium?

I will show you how to draw simple shapes and a plane in perspective. We will explore one-point perspective as its own unique style rather than just a beginner step. It is a great tool for staging scenes clearly without camera distortion. I will explain how to set up two-point perspective with vanishing points far apart to keep your shapes looking natural. You will learn how the horizon line dictates your eye level. I will demonstrate how to place boxes and figures above, below, or right on that line. I also share a practical tip for drawing straighter lines and explain how to use shading directions to reinforce your perspective.

Hello, this is looking solid; nice line confidence! I would say look out for keeping your objects consistent with each other; if you were looking to make your figures recede evenly, the reason they got squashed was because your closest figure is actually lower in space than the ones in the back (since the front figure is standing on a shorter box). The figures in the back are hanging on the horizon line, but their legs are squished up compared to the front figure since they're higher up in space. Also consider making the proportions of the figures smaller as they recede. As you see, the figure in the front is the same width as the one in the back, which shouldn't be the case! All in all, you seem to be doing well; keep it up!
