Loving the confident lines and shape design. Lovely.

I followed along with the back landmarks video. This felt tricky to do without much knowledge of anatomy, but it makes me excited to start learning!

Looks quite good to me, only the lower left leg seems a bit too long and too curvy ^^

Nice flow in this -- the pose looks life-like.

I decided to do 4 drawings before going to the robo bean.
Even with a clear picture it still seems difficult trying to draw the scapula properly.
Was also wondering if the 4th picture (The one sitting on the table) has a better head to body proportion ratio than the others.

I like the gesture. The landmarks for the pelvic bone seem too low and too small. Look for the bumps on the body to find more accurate positions for them.

I'm still struggling with this topic as well, but I am noticing a few missing landmarks.
For the first one, I'm not seeing that sort of middle v shape landmark between the shoulder blades, I'm also missing that donut shape at the hip which you should at least be able to see part of. There are also opportunities to define the lower back as well as seen in the video above.
For the second one, I'm missing the collarbone landmark, the rib cage area, the delt is also ill-defined.
I think something overall that I am also seeing is just not doing enough to the contrast between the underlying foundation drawing and the landmarks on top, leaving an overall muted look for the strokes.
All that being said its good to see you putting in the reps, some of the flows of the line work are not bad either.

This is hard. I feel like I need to learn anatomy before I even touch this section because I'm honestly struggling to find some of these landmarks under all that muscle.

I'm still in the process of mimicking. I found myself very easy to fall focusing on the details of lines instead of muscles and bigger structure...Hope could improve one day by keep practicing... Any critic/advice are more than appreciated!

So I watched the video, then got an anatomy book and began tracing and shading as was suggested. Will try all the figures again....

Drawing along with Stan.
Actually before this I took a break and went back to do more gestures. I found somehow that really helped. And now I also understand a bit more why Stan's gestures are so articulate... it's because of his knowledge of the landmarks and muscles.... it's all related !!!

@Jesper Axelsson I've finished my landmark drawings I feel like I have some trouble with the landmarks of the pelvis in front poses and I feel like I draw the scapula a too low.
I'd also like to know when drawing more developed drawings should I also draw the landmarks or should I just visualise and observe them to find the angles?
And am I ready to move on?

Hi @Josh mcgrath, nice studies! You're ready to move on!
I found the landmarks to be really tricky (especially the 5 bumps on the knee). I wanted to be really accurate, but I chose to not dive deep into this assignment since placing things exactly would be easier once I learned anatomy. Once you learn the anatomy of the pelvis and scapulas, placing them accurately will become easier. (Btw, I don't think you've placed the scapulas too low; rather, they seem too high up and small to me, if you compare them to the landmark chart in the lesson notes)
"I'd also like to know when drawing more developed drawings should I also draw the landmarks or should I just visualise and observe them to find the angles?"
I'm currently going through Joseph Todorovitch's course "From Paper to Canvas" on New Master's Academy, and I like the way he uses landmarks in it. The process he presents for drawing the figure from observation is something like:
- Place the head and draw an envelope for the rest of the body
- Place the other body parts
- Take a second pass, starting with the head again, to add construction and find the landmarks. You should try to get the landmarks accurately placed, since you'll use them as reference points as you develop the drawing further
So I guess the answer to your question is that indicating the landmarks in your drawings is a good idea, but I honestly hadn't given much thought to it before taking Joesph's class.
Hope this helps :)
