I am already 8% in this and feel pretty overwhelmed. I struggle with lifting my arm while drawing and with perception. I should probably go back to basics with my triangles, squares, circles, and lines for a few weeks.
I'm not asking for sympathy or encouragement-- just advice on how long I should go back to basics.
I will be returning to the lesson structure soon. I have been working on my own thing (while practicing)
until you feel its right, and we have stan sir ,a great artist to tell us , instruct us, just follow what he says and do, you will get better. If a artist like him is telling me to practice on your fundamentals then that is the first thing I should do isnt it , and the way he teaches us ,specially proko and marshal , both of them are just great , go and watch draftsman podcast , its just great

If you haven't watched the videos on tapered strokes and searching lines yet, those will be helpful --
Tapered strokes: https://www.proko.com/course-lesson/how-to-draw-confident-lines-the-tapered-stroke/comments
Searching lines: https://www.proko.com/course-lesson/searching-for-lines/comments
I would recommend drilling these as warm ups as much as possible, daily if you can. You want to commit these lines to muscle memory, the most effective way to do that is consistent repetition.
In regards to shapes, there is a huge section with lots of info about shapes and shape designs later on in the Drawing Basics course. This is a great introductory video to the fundamentals of good shapes if you want to preview it:
https://www.proko.com/course-lesson/7-ways-simple-shapes-can-improve-your-drawings/comments
It's the next section after the lines section, so you'll be skipping a bunch of lessons to watch that video but it might be beneficial to get an idea of what's coming up in the course and to be thinking about those concepts now since you are interested in it.
Hope that helps :)
