I will be returning to the lesson structure soon. I have been working on my own thing (while practicing)
I am already 8% in this and feel pretty overwhelmed. I struggle with lifting my arm while drawing and with perception. I should probably go back to basics with my triangles, squares, circles, and lines for a few weeks.
I'm not asking for sympathy or encouragement-- just advice on how long I should go back to basics.

I know my shell is waaaaaay off. I am getting used to using my full arm and shoulder. I do like my snail's head. I am not ready for boots yet.

One thing that can take a while to get used to is how much more time we need to spend analyzing and comparing the model and our drawing than time spent actually making marks on paper.
That is very true. I keep reminding myself, I am brand new. I am looking forward to the perception training.
I am not used to using the side of the pencil to shade, but I wanted to share this to see how far I have come later on. I noticed my stem is off angle-- I think I drew it from memory. lol. Also-- seeing them side to side, I realize I made it too wide on the bottom.
