Great studies and topic. These studies are very familiar to me as I’ve also been working my way through Bridgman book as well. I really like how Bridgman over exaggerates everything which helps make the subtle become more apparent. One revelation I’ve discovered is i need to make quads proportions a bit longer sometimes. I’m am curious what you or others have learned from their Bridgman studies. Any feedback also appreciated.

Hi @Adam Wiebner, really nice studies! If you're trying to copy Bridgman: - I think you could dare to be even more sculputral; think as if you were sculpting the body out of rock. You have much of that in your first drawing, but in the others I felt like that quality was lost. - I would pay even more attention to rhythm and gesture. In the second drawing you've captured many Bridgman qualities, like contour design and structure, but when I compare it to a Bridgman drawing in a similar pose I feel like Bridgman's pose has a lot more fluidity, balance and energy. It's like his figures are made of rock, but they form a flowing river. If you want to learn more about drawing from Bridgman, you might appreciate Marshall Vandruff's Bridgman Bootcamp on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrPi92DnMis&list=PLf3dvAURflO-mJ-fbhWMBxs1pwX7zuhik. Hope this helps :)

Hi Adam, those are some very nice studies so well done friend. In terms of what I've learnt, I'll start by saying that my first Bridgman study attempts were very bad. I didn't have good knowledge in anatomy and structural volumes, and I was just copying without understanding why he deconstructed the anatomy like that. But now that my knowledge in anatomy has increased, revisiting Bridgman is like seeing his work with new eyes. So I think one should study anatomy alongside with Bridgman, and not Bridgman by itself.
