Journey 4
1yr
@silentmoonss
Hello I know it’s been a while since I’ve been here. I took a trip with draw a box and it’s still ongoing but I drew these on the sides I decided to continue a bit with prokos fig.drawing course and I’ve moved on to landmarks. Gesture has been a bit easier for me though I have difficulty drawing men since they are much stiffer then women but it’s coming. Together. I’ve also been taking breaks more as not to be overwhelmed and it’s helped me to actually draw not practice but draw more and much longer. Since I’m still doing drawabox I won’t be able to post weekly however once February comes I’ll be back to posting weekly journeys. So here’s a couple of landmark studies. I’ve been practicing my basic shapes so I’ve been incorporating them into the figures to see how it would look if I was on the “mannequin” section. Hope for some feedback and thanks again

I agree with Steve, these look pretty nice. And I think you did a good job identifying the landmarks. - In the 2nd drawing, you have indicated a 4th point, below the epicondyle points in the raised elbow. There shouldn't be one there I think. - I would keep an extra eye on proportion & symmetry and alignments. You don't have to go overboard with it, but check your vertical allignments with a plumb line every now and then, and be extra aware of making things the correct size. In the 2nd drawing, I think you place his raised hand a bit to far to the left, checking its vertical aligments with a plumb line might help. In drawing five, the hips might be a bit wide, the torso a bit short, and the head a bit small. Also her left (our right) upper arm seems shorter then her right, breaking the symmetry of the two "halves" of the body. Hope this helps :)

I think these look pretty nice. The gesture looks good, proportions look pretty good, and the structure looks pretty solid. I think stepping away from the figure and drawing something else is a good thing every now and then. No matter what you draw, it will still increase your skill, and will make your figure drawings better.
