I'm not great at digital, I always had a hard time drawing/painting digitally and cause I get really easily frustrated it's even harder for me to start on something I know is gonna be hard and frustrating so I mainly try n focus on doing things I enjoy drawing (girls, weird stuff. I went through a bit of ctrlpiant's library and picked up a few thing though I still haven't went through all of the videos yet as it's a bit tedious to do. if anyone has feedback on the piece or advice on digital painting, enjoying learning more and dealing with anger please do tell

I really like the cretaivity for the weird aspects in your art. Soemthing I admire but just can't imagine myself. As Alec said the first question that popped into my mind reading your text was why are you forcing yourself to do digital art, if you can't enjoy it. Are you hoping to get to enjoy it, do you think it is necessary for your carreer? Depending on the answer I would figure out what is frustrating to you. Are the program and the options to overwhelming? Do you miss an aspect of traditional art? I staretd traditional and I got my tablet just for adjustments and background coloring (background with alcohol markers are....). But then this method surprised me. You can experiemnt so much and never have to worry abou messing something up you like. You can play with colors, brushes, masks ect. For me it really sparked my creativity as soon as I found out that I can create art that does not look so 'digitally' like I had always thoght it would always do (yes I had no clue about art or digital art at all ^^). So if you have reasons to keep trying digital art, I would say try to embrace the freedom, that you can play and experiment until something klicks with your style. Also for me I really started enjoying playing with the options when I found the program that felt intuitive to me. For me that was CSP, but I think that is very subjective.

really nice! im also still struggling to get used to digital art myself so im not the best at it and only finished like a couple vids from ctrl paint XD it does feel a bit tedious but once you understand it will be fun! i suggest u to watch ctrl paint's vids on brush control since i think ur work can definitely boost a lot with it and another tip is to paint over ur sketch layer to give it a cleaner look and more rendered feel to it! i really like ur drawing concept and color choice here! really nice work i hope some of my tip might help ^^

Hi Jonas, I do not mean to sound derogatory, but it sounds like you don't enjoy digital painting, have you tried your hand at painting traditionally? Personally I enjoy painting with gouache/oil a lot more than with digital when i want to make 'art'. It is a weird thing but I always find that there's some disconnect between myself and photoshop, so I just don't do it much unless I need to for work. In general I don't think it's good to force something you don't enjoy doing. I'm curious what your goals are with digital?

goalwise I haven't really thought about it much, it's something that people just told me about if you wanna make it as an artist you'll need to be good at digital. what I do want to do in digital is allowing me to create better moods with the use of colour and light as I really enjoy some other paintings that tell great story telling with their use of light and color other advice I've gotten was getting an Ipad as some folk like one of my friends find it harder to paint on a wacom tablet without a screen but since it's a bit expensive I've let it pass for now
