I had no idea there's such a thing called line weight. I learnt a lot in this lesson ans now I can tell my line quality is bad... haven't fix it yet and now i practice just doing lines..but at least now I can tell it is bad! Didn't get to master studies yet as mi lines are medium..but here I tried using the line weight on some portraits( or attempt to portraits). Any advice of any kind is much appreciated

I tried to use what I learnt on line weight a bit on a portrait exercise and don't do shading...but I am not sure it worked out well... full disclosure: I don't know how to draw portraits..I basically bought the Loomis book 8 months ago and practice when I have time by myself... reference is from Pinterest

ok here we go... the hand...well..it is a hand.. but i'm surprised I got something semi decent with this approach..while doing it it feels like "lazy" in a way , not sure why I feel that way

Starting again. Did two takes on the pear, with the 2nd attempt being after viewing the demonstration.
nice!!! your shade seems way more realistic and it kinda makes a huge impact in the overall drawing to me..I'm also learning so not sure how useful my opinions can be..haha , but the improvement is there!! :)

So I got motivated and tried also the portrait (pre-demo)..somehow when I finished it was 3h later! not sure if this is an OK amount of time or if I'm just very slow ( I did started by myself the "head and Hands" book a 2 months ago and was trying to get proportions on how to draw heads but learning alone is quite tricky...). Btw, this exercise got me kinda mentally exhausted ..like I feel pretty tired ..haha

Hi everyone! I finally got time to get started in the course. I was waiting a bit so when I start I can be constant. I know it's late but I want to share what I do as a non experience beginner and hopefully see some progress with time.. Here the pear 1 before watching the demo. When I put them side by side I can already see soooo many mistakes..
I am also just a beginner but I think you did a great job. I can really feel Al the planes of the pear!
No mistakes! Just a different interpretation! Your rendition is wonderful. Will it get better? Sure! But there are no “mistakes”, just “deviations”.
