After seeing the critique on one of the studies after Claire Wendling and noticing I made same mistakes, I went on to give it another try. This time really focusing on trying single strokes - rather than constructing shapes with multiple lines.
Before the critique I was too absorbed by the proportions. With these I was more mindful about my line quality, so in order to no get overwhelmed, I took only parts of 3 different Claire's sketches to practice.

Haven't studied proportions yet so really struggled while trying to put together all lines and shapes in a way that didn't look creepy or an offence to the artist.
My eraser pulled a double shift this time and already threatened me to file for hazard pay.

The most enjoyable assignment so far! From researching which master to study, finding so many different styles, then drilling down to which piece of work to choose, I caught myself wanting to draw so many images that I ended up with a folder full of inspirations to try it out later.
This is my attempt at Oleg Yurkov's BabaJaga concepts. Considering how intimidating this is and my level of experience, I wanted to start with a more cartoony style, but at the same time tried to find a piece of work with enough line variations to practice.
The first image is the full drawing, second is the crop I took as a reference for my attempt. Felt tempted to shade some of the areas of the drawing too!

Wanted to challenge myself by doing both levels. First drawing of each subject was made before demo, second after demo.
I was too caught up into the details, outlining little details and forgot the main objective of this project, which is to practice line quality and stroke confidence!
I'm using an A5 I found laying around and wanted to start practicing while my order doesn't arrive, but during the exercise I missed having a larger sketchbook. The spiral was a bit in the way.
Anyways... critiques are welcomed! :)

These warm-up Mario Mushrooms were really fun and relaxing. I noticed that on the first ones, even if I tried to draw different shapes and angles, my stubborn hand would commit to the standard rounded shape.
I can see the improvement on the last page, there I have fewer searching lines and, able to draw it in different shapes.
I have a better pressure control but I'm not sure if I should have applied lighter pressure on the parts that wasn't "supposed" to show up or if it's ok that I didn't make the strokes at all on those parts.

Tried all 3 pears before the demo and the first one after the demo. Disregard the table lamp doodle on the right side. :)
