First attempt. Getting the hang of the digital medium.

Attempt after watching the videos. Tried in two different styles in krita. Is the second one form of cheating? Used the line, selection tool in krita and the crosshatch engine. Love the feel of the sketchy design but my fingers pain holding the wacom pen. any tips for better hand holding while using digital pen. Also, is it worth investing in photoshop (very comfortable using it, used in uni for 4 years) if I am planning on doing a game art for an indie game.

Made in Krita. My first try with pear. Though I am more comfortable with pencil and paper decided to do in PC because i am definitely be doing more digital art as my aim is doing game art and level design. How did this turn out? Not happy with the digital look but Liked the way I was able to emulate pencil. As I am doing digitally, do I have to emulate pencil or stick with the digital look. Also, drawing with Wacom for the first time my figures pain shading the pear. Any tips?

 Watched the critique video today and attempted the pear the third time, this time with a life pear I bought in a store. Followed advice of Stan to be more careful and patient with pencil shading using a tip of the pen, and also tried to explain the form with shadows as if they were plates. Experimentally played a bit with cast shadows. Seeing values from a life object is even more challenging than from a picture where you can adjust the contrast.
