Here’s my project. I finished it before watching either this video or the demo, as I wanted to go fresh.
It was hard to come up with at first, since I’m more used to drawing humans (and cute girls :) ). I’ve always liked cats, so when the assignment said to create a character based on an animal, I immediately thought of one. Now, the problem was that cats are very popular, so I had to try not to be influenced by other cat designs out there. I tried several images, but what really helped in the end was studying a cat’s skeleton (since I’m learning to draw people, I’m more familiar with using the human skeleton for construction lines). I also wanted it to be a robot, because of a story I’m working on. In the end, I ended up being influenced by my love for anime and video games, and I created a robotic anime-style kitty inspired by Saint Seiya and Mega Man. I think it still needs a loooot of work before I can use her in my story, but it’s a start.
I'm sharing both the process I followed before coming with a final product and some of the images I used as reference (most I found them on Pinterest. The skeleton ones are from Google and Wikipedia).

Wow. This looks awesome. You took this assignment to a whole new level. You designed a really cool character.
I think your cat character could be brought even further if you wanted to open up the pose. Give them some action.

Cool Tetris shape.
If you want to keep the sides straight, maybe move the vanishing points to the back. What part of the form is closest to the viewer?
If it’s the bottom plane of the form, maybe the 3rd vanishing point would be on the top of the page.
I did the reversed thing for the second drawing.

Did this example hard mode, trying to rely on my observation of landmarks without using Stan's example as a crutch.
Second time using mostly an overhand technique too

Had a rough time, but this was fun. Might try again after seeing the demo.

Level 1ish here but did try out the overhand grip on some of them. Not use to that at all but I saw a small improvement on my control with it. Did all 24 but it would only let me attach 20. Think it took me about an hour 45 to complete. Gonna rest my brain now!

I think the facial features should have been a bit more to the left as right now the left side is too large and right side too narrow. It was a fun exercise though and definitely going to do some more.

I can see some errors for sure—frustrated that those eyes ended up too far apart in spite of my best efforts lol. The nose and the ear were both wild to draw; my brain fought me every step of the way on both. Still not sure how I did re: the ear, actually. Those folds are really hard to capture. Enjoyed doing this and am eager to get quick enough at this even to take an hour; this took me about four.
