This assignment was incredibly hard. I'm not sure I understand how to focus on flow rather than contours, not to mention pressure control for tapered lines. To me it seems like I'm just drawing it without erasing. Hoping to learn from the demos and critique videos, but I may just need to practice at this a lot.

Pressure control will take some time and practice to commit to muscle memory. This assignment is encouraging you to get loose with your lines and implement the idea of searching lines from the previous lesson -- laying in light lines until you feel ready darken the correct lines. You won't need to erase anything because the lighter lines will have faded to the back. As a warm up you could try drilling lines with different pressures applied. Practice your CSI lines. Remember to draw from your elbow if you're using a tripod grip or your shoulder if you're using an overhand grip instead of drawing from your wrist, which will limit your ability to draw fluidly.

Was feeling proud of the shape of the boots, and then it came time to put those laces in the right place and everything started to fall apart. May have made a few shapes that weren't just Cs and Ss.

My pear. :)

Great job! I like how you've designed the value shapes here and you did a great job keeping your shading smooth and even. The only thing I would recommend is for you is to try adding one more darker value for the core shadow shape to get that fifth value in.
