Moving away from drawing from observation was extremely hard for me, but it finally allowed me to feel loose! I struggled soooo much to do the level 1 version of this project because I wanted to replicate the clean line work of the references. Here, though? I went nuts compared to what I usually draw. I had a lot of fun with this one! I'll definitely change my schedule to include more "drawing from imagination" days now. Thanks for the assignment! I included some of the references I used.

Round 2: I explored the chunky monkey. This was super fun, but I still feel like I need to go further. I'll change animal for my next couple of sessions of drawing from imagination.

I feel like maybe I didn't do this right. The drawing doesn't feel energetic and loose. I started with a lot of those lines, but somewhere along the way, I forgot and cleaned it up with an electric eraser. I'll make sure to take extra care with the other two level 1 drawings so that I just keep it loose and add a lot of energy in the lines. I have to make an effort to remind myself of what the point of the project is. However, I still like the end result. Any feedback is appreciated.

It's really hard for me to try to be loose. It's very uncomfortable for me to make search lines without cleaning them up quickly. I got as loose as I could by avoiding measuring. For the VR girl drawing, I only measured twice, and the drawing definitely looks more "loose" than my usual work, but not in a way that I like. I think I'll have to see the demos to really get how to do this without feeling like I need to reach for the eraser every couple of minutes.

First attempt at level 2 of this project. I wasn't sure how far to take the simplification of the skeleton captain, so that's one thing I hope to clarify for myself with the demos. Still, this was really good practice. Thanks for the assignment. Any feedback is appreciated.

I also decided to combine Project 1 and Project 2 into a single project: Project 2.5. Basically, use a limited set of values (4) to draw a portrait and only use CSI lines for the lay-in. It was TOUGH, but I think the result is alright.

First attempt at this project. Unfortunately, I made the boots too small and I couldn't confidently make lines for the laces without making it too noisy. Instead, I captured simple gestural lines for the laces that stood out to me as interesting. I'll try the exercise again at a larger scale so that I have enough space to practice the laces with CSI lines and not make it unreadable. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

I tried this the day after I drew the pear so that I could challenge myself. I like the result quite a bit, but some areas in the photo look lighter than they actually are because of the lamp lighting it. Thanks for the assignment! I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
