I have tried to draw these animal portraits along with some more I found on pexels. Not yet grasping the idea of simplifying, at least animal portraits they have some complex shapes.

I found a few sharks and an orca to try before getting to draw the seals provided. Got the references attached as well!

This is amazing, thank you very much! Procreate bit will come in handy definitely.

I'm too late for this assignment buuut I wanted to try and do something! I found this drawing some years ago and really liked and thought it might be fitting to try and do it as an assignment piece. However I did change the end result slightly. P.S. If someone knows the original artist of the artwork, please let me know! Thanks!

I’m not that good with proportions so I was excited to try this lesson! Here’s my assignment submission. Done on A3 newsprint with charcoal, so it can be messy at places.

I’m behind quite a bit but luckily I hadn’t abandoned my interest in drawing but merely had a break. Anyway here are my assignments for both hierarchy of importance and the light and shadow one.

Always struggled with proportions! I'll give this lesson a watch and go back to the ones I missed while taking a break...

Tried to do one of these digitally(Procreate), can't decide on what brush to use. Every brush I tried was too textured. Not sure which method I tried to go with, could be both in one.

Here is my attempt at sketching from imagination with various references. Nerd alert. I created a Star Wars inspired Gungan Jedi. I was always fascinated with the Darth JarJar fan theory lol, so I thought I’d give it a go. This character is meant to be a light side Jedi. I wanted to give the character a sense of grace in combat, much Luke from the Mandalorian, while also trying to stay true to the ‘Drunken Boxing’ martial arts style, which gives the illusion of clumsiness and utilization of distraction techniques. The lightsaber is inspired from the various gungan weapons seen in Star Wars episode 1. Designs of the Jedi robe were taken from Boss Nass attire. It was a fun project and I learned a lot!

That’s amazing! That would totally work in a Star Wars universe. Have you watched “The Bad Batch”? Even that’s fun.

I do not know if I am very late or too late, but I just finished Level 1. The hand was the easiest one for me, the pinguin was the hardest. I drew this $%&& bird 5 times because he kept looking stupid. My lines got better with each time and that's what matters.

Penguins are clumsy by nature I think, at least on land. Your drawings are great, the arm especially. Those fingers look excellent.

Got a couple pointers to take away for my drawings from these demonstrations. Thanks! Also whoever picked the music, thank you, it's sooo good!

Level 1 guy attempting to make a jump. I tried to sketch the giraffe looking at the camera while running. My main problem seems to be establishing proportions, so rather than doing it with the pencil I use a scale divider. Is that ok or should I try to work without it?

I think scale dividers are fine really, it’s just a tool. Plus if it helps you with drawing then that’s a bonus. We’ll have lessons on measuring proportions later on.

This was fun :) I decided to design a simple fox character (who doesn't love foxes?). I also wanted to practice more fluid lines and dynamic poses (hence I looked at some more dynamic-looking animal illustrations). I really enjoyed the sketching process, and I would be happy to receive feedback / thoughts :)

Here's my inspiration board of a crab. First page I did as warm up and getting a feel of how to construct this creature, and to get an idea of what it looks like from front- and backview. On the second picture I wanted to have a crab do some acrobatics :D This was so much fun. Tomorrow I'll sketch more crab and attempt to add some character in them. I'll edit pictures in this post.

Nice studies of crabs and the finished sketch looking awesome. Is that crab doing push ups on one claw?

You seem to have uploaded this drawing to the wrong lesson as assignment. Other than that it's a good drawing.

Here are my sketches from observation. All done digitally with iPad procreate and the closest brush I could find to a colored pencil. Looking forward to seeing what everyone draws from imagination!

These look nice. I wonder have you heard of "Infinite Painter"? It's also an app on iPad, I have both Procreate and that painter one. I do like them both yet I'm no good with either for now.

So these are my attempts! I am not used to drawing from imagination to be honest but this seemed to be pretty fun. First attempt wasn't great but then I came up with something pretty decent I think!

Attached are my three reference images, and some sketches from my imagination. I just finished listening to one of The Witcher books and drew a scene from there - the one with the Unicorn.

Nice sketches! What witcher book you listen to at the moment? I prefer to read them as opposed to listening.

Had a go at the 3 references provided on my iPad. The arm was a bit tricky and didn’t get the foreshortening right on the fingers. Penguin was alright, and the most fun I had was with the girl character.
