I like it! I suggest you emphasize the main act of this composition, i.e. the robot-like character studying the doll head, by making everything else support this act, subduing whatever conflicts. For instance, Pinocchio's head in the top left is really nice, but it draws away my attention from the main act.

I actually love this piece and am hoping the main character is your original character. Sure the values/lighting could be changed, however this is the type of drawing that would be in a special gift book or print for a special wall, not just a regular old kids picture book. Beautiful technical skill. I agree more with what Izak has said. I know that including well-known characters will immediately capture an audience because of the familiarity and make it memorable, but it's stealing your spotlight. As an artist when I'm creating (copyright issues aside) I would rather my time go to my own unique memorable characters (ie your own very different version of Pinocchio, Raggedy Ann-since these types of toys were common kids toys at one time before corporate hijacked them- but something never seen before would be even better) I also seek this out when looking at art and illustrations. Like I said, I love your work and the idea, I'm only trying to help:) I'm not nearly as accomplished as you. Please keep at it, I see great things:)

I'm impressed, and doubly impressed that it is your first ever full figure in 3D! You have obviously put in a lot of practice time and are very talented. I'm trying to find something to help, the only things I have to offer are: somehow she looks too modern for the 30s to me, maybe the fabric? I can't pinpoint exactly what it is though, sorry. The other is perhaps a little more value in the featured close ups (the hair mainly everything else looks good.)

Also I was wondering... I rewatched recently this video by @Trent Kaniuga https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPkbciJ8wCU , where he talks about the importance of creativity in the designs that you put in your portfolio. And since this design doesn't really bring anything new to the table, should I include it in my portfolio? Maybe after I'm done with my classes I could revisit this character and add something new and unique to it, more than just a pretty lady in a night dress... What do you think?? Thanks for reading!

Just an idea to offer something...break the stereotype and throw something in there that is completely unexpected but somehow hidden in plain sight.
