Here is my attempt at the shoes and the snail. I obviously messed up somewhere with height proportions on the shoes.

When doing this was anyone else having the issue of making 2B and 4B shading more distinguishable from each other? I was finding that the 6B was significantly darker than the 4B after multiple passes with both, but it seemed like the contrast between them was significantly greater than the contrast of 2B and 4B.

Hey Charles, I like the evenness of your tone, nice rendering. I think you could improve by having a clearer separation between the dark and light areas, since right now your gray tones all appear very similar to one another in value. I think your scale is skewed towards the darker side, so lightening the 2nd lightest value and then redistributing the rest of the value steps evenly across would help.
