These really made me think about the tilt of the head and the placement of the features. My line quality, well, I need to work on it.

Hi y'all. HELP PLEASE. So I thought I'd try the portrait measuring thing again. Didn't go well at all the first million tries, but here we go again. Got to get this measuring thing down.
What do you do w/ a pict that nothing lines up throughout? I can't find a unit of measure, on this guy, that will go everywhere like Stan did in his examples. Can any of you?
Also, it was unclear in the video, to me anyway, how to put all these measurements onto paper. I'm using a big piece of paper like he said & a letter size reference. I understand not to do the sight size. Got that. What is Stan's method even called? YouTube might help if I knew what it's called
Wish there were a ton of these demos. Thank y'all so much

It might be a good idea to start with an envelope, say a line from the pinkie finger on the gloved hand to the tip of brim of the hat, another line from the brim to the top of the hat, a diagonal line at the top of the hat then down to the brim on the right side then to the vest and shoulder. I think that would give a good start. From there you can measure further. Anyway, I hope that helps...

Dürer, a pillow in ink. I made a mess of it. Probably not the best subject for me to tackle at this stage but it was an interesting exercise.

I'm not sure I got as dynamic as I could have, and I still struggle to keep my line control from getting scratchy. I had fun with it though.

I'm not sure I did this assignment right. I wanted to explore making a still pose more dynamic by creating diagonal peaks. I found that idea really interesting and worked on it, but as I see what others here have done, I think maybe I was supposed to work more on flow...

After five hours, I felt like my lines and brain were turning into mush. I see I made some errors but I am happy, this is the closest I have ever come to getting a decent drawing using this method. Thanks Proko!

This took about two hours, but I think I'm starting to get it. Measuring is hard, I need a lot of practice for it to be more intuitive.
