Super cool to see Daniel work his magic. One thing that stands out to me is how he's able to nail lines wherever he wants them. It's inspiring to see him hit all those lines and he never rotates the page. I have huge deficits in line direction, in other words I can draw great lines in one direction but my lines get REALLY wavy if I go another, less practised direction. After watching Daniel draw for an hour, I was inspired to draw something using the same technique. It's quite fun to see how much my use of perspective has improved since I began this course.
LESSON NOTES

What's in Premium?

Daniel Cherng walks you through drawing a sci-fi mobile habitat capsule from scratch. You will learn how to break down complex designs into simple squares and boxes to nail your proportions. Daniel demonstrates how to use orthographic projections to build a 3D object in perspective. He covers essential depth measuring techniques and shows how to handle wide-angle distortion when drawing objects up close. You will also see a practical approach to drawing inclined planes like stairs using anchor points instead of complicated vanishing traces. Finally, Daniel explains when to rely on strict perspective rules and when to trust your instincts to eyeball the details.

Proportion is hard to see when drawing complex objects. Simplify your designs by breaking them down into basic squares. An orthographic projection helps you find the right perspective and depth without getting stuck on strict vanishing traces.

so the key is making the first square in perspective a real square! or everything will be of! the plane game is so useful for that!❤️
