DISCLAIMER: This course was filmed with minimal editing in a lecture style. The core concepts and knowledge shared are timeless. The bulk of this course was produced as a series of 60 screen recorded lectures and 3 traditional charcoal demos to help you learn the figure.
In this course I teach you the surprisingly simple approach I’ve used throughout my career to go from a c student to training the pros at the biggest animation and gaming studios and selling my fine art to collectors around the world.
We take a holistic approach here. You’ll learn the craft of gesture, structure, values, edge control, but also how to think, feel, and see. You’ll get the core tools of strong draftsmanship, and more importantly, start developing your own artistic voice. We work with both the mechanics and the meaning. That’s where real growth happens.
Learn the surprisingly simple methods I use to draw, paint, and sculpt the figures at the level I do. You’ll learn how to break down complex ideas into smaller, manageable steps and get more control over the figure through structured repetition and targeted exercises I call “filters.” These help you train specific skills like proportion, form, and design thinking.
Besides the technical instruction, we’ll also dig into some philosophy. Art isn’t just something you do, it’s how you connect with the world and yourself, it's a foundation for spiritual traditions. The techniques you’ll learn about aren’t just about drawing better, but about finding more meaning in your practice. Whether you’re new or you’ve been drawing for years, this course gives you strategies to move forward, and to go deeper instead of just faster.
If you’re tired of formulaic methods and want to find a rhythm that actually fits you, I’d love for you to join me. Together we’ll build a strong foundation of craft, curiosity, confidence, and connection. That’s the real project and it’s worth the effort. See you in the course!
