In addition to the assignment described in the video, here is a bonus assignment;
Bonus assignment - Using the images provided from Reference Pictures (this one is a free pack, used in this course with permission), do painting studies of each image. Pay close attention to where the core shadows are, and how the fade or fall off toward the shadow sides. This might be a rigorous study, but I promise you’ll learn so much by doing this exercise. It’s not meant to create art masterpieces, only to expose you to all the nooks and crannies of things you need to know.
Hi! This is my first ever formal art class so I was very nervous jumping in. My shapes don't feel illusory enough to be 3D, but I'm gonna keep practicing! (I'm also using Procreate, so things may be a bit different but you use whatcha got ^^)
Here my spheres.
I had some problems with the dark shapes. Not sure how to get clean edges but also adhere to the form of the sphere (see spheres 2, 4 and 5)
Well, this took me longer than I thought (a whole month) but I learned so much. I took inspiration from everyone’s posted work, so this is my contribution. Thank you so much!
I wish there was a bit more guidance with the photoshop use. I'm pretty lost as to which brushes to use like yeah I downloaded them but which is useful for what :/
Im using the hard round for the linework, the soft airbrush for the rendering and using his flat textured brush for the painterly style. Hope that helps.
Art is the conveyance of fundamental human truth, regardless of barriers attempting to conceal it.
