This lesson is where drawing bends time and space!

We now delve into the mystic art of foreshortening, a trick of the eye and a test of the hand. Here, limbs leap toward the viewer, torsos twist, and perspective weaves its illusion. But fear not. You won’t need a ruler! You’ll need rhythm, gesture, and a pencil wielded like a wand.

You’ll learn to draw not with tension, but with trust. Use the underside of your pencil as a brush of energy, casting broad, expressive strokes that conjure both mass and motion. Let your hand dance, not dictate.

You’ll face tangled limbs, sharp angles, impossible views and you’ll learn to tame them all by understanding rhythm and flow. With each attempt, your artistic voice grows louder.

And as we wield these traditional tools (charcoal, paper, pencil) we honor the past while shaping the future, proving that old magic still sings in the digital age.

Now pick up your pencil, and let’s bend reality together!

Don't panic! It's foreshortening time, my favorite way to draw because it overflows with rhythm and joy. Foreshortened figures are dynamic, filled with movement, and easier to navigate in terms of proportions. Drawing with broad strokes and rhythm frees you up, and it's okay to let accuracy take a backseat to gesture and energy. Remember, every line is an exploration, so don't let erasing hold you back. Embrace the challenge, enjoy the process, and keep pushing your drawings to new heights!
