I am a complete novice...not even that (I have only ever used those cheap water color paint sets for kids). However, I have been interested in learning how to paint with water colors for a long time. Could you recommend the size, shape, bristle composition and maybe some brands that you think someone just starting out should have (please consider cost)? Thank you so much.

These are the paint brushes I am using the most, and are the easiest to use, most comfy and most effective.

if you were to just buy like one of those to start with, which one would be the most essential?

Helpful points on brushes. What do you think of the hake brush for washes? It does seem like your multi-brush will hold more water than my hake, but I do like using one.
