Here's my attempts. As I went through this course last year December. This time I just wanted to review a few stuff, last 4 are from this month. Thinking about getting the gesture course or jump straight to the From Mannequim to character. Maybe the gesture book would help me out more. (I think your teachings is something I'll always come back to, in cycles).
I did all demos for gesture. I think I did my best on the last 3 from the Gesture 5 demo. Let me know what I can improve!
I think the audio is mussed up on this vid, seems to contain audio from Gesture Basics 1
240413. A few more studies after gesture lessons with refs. found on Proko. WHS sketchbook (plain paper size A4: 210x297mm). Mechanical pencil HB.. I have attached also ref. model photograps. My sketches are not limited to just a few lines as when trying to find a "right" line i was just "ghosting" it and did usually a few repetitions or corrections which you can see on the paper/picture.. Also I was not trying to perfectly sketch proportions and gestures and lines do not have a quality of sketching in computer. Cannot say it better than Lin. Thank you ver much Michael for sharing what you know.
Michael, I've only been drawing for 7 months now but it hasn't been easy. Very little remains from each practice session even after 6-8 hrs of daily practice through these months (it's the way of art, isn't it, with it being a marathon not a sprint). However, what I've learned from you has instantly stuck to me and I am just so grateful. You explain things succinctly and well, and it just resonates with me - so I wanted to say thank you so much. :D
They say it’s not good to draw for to long every day after 2 or more hours your brain won’t process the information well and u will forget most of what you learned. It like craming for a test you will forget the next day. I think the sweet spot is an hour of delibrate pratice a day
