@elbell
Hello, im 16 years old and have been drawing pretty consistently (like at least 10 hours a week) for the last 7 years. Ive learnt everything through youtube - proko - and using a couple books like bridgemans constructive anatomy and steve hustons figure drawing books. These have been super helpful but i feel like im missing out on critiques from professionals and more experienced artists. So if anyones willing, id love some critiques and advice on my work Thanks so much:)) - the drawings i attached are a mix of longer drawings and jsut some pages from my sketchbook that i like

your work is lovely. Keep doing what you do and also continue to study others.

These are great. For 16 you're really ahead of the game. The thing I'm noticing with these drawings are some questions around human proportion and anatomy. Your perspective seems pretty good, but when the anatomy is off, it can make that feel weird. I'm not sure of your exact goals for art, but one thing that really helped me is to worry less about rendering and "finishing" drawings. As we are developing as artists, it is all about getting as much milage as we can. This means doing lots of starts, and less finishes. The less precious we are with our sketches the better. If you have an hour to draw, you could spend that entire hour rendering a sketch, or you could draw 20 gesture drawings. I would argue that most of the time it is better to do the 20 gesture drawings. This isn't to say render is not important. It is. But for every hour you spend rendering, spend 2 or 3 hours just sketching. That is what will pay off the most in the end and help you get a better feel for drawing humans. Hope that helps. Keep it up.

most artists look for too much reviews in a search for something that isnt really related to art or progress man, if any advice should be given here its dont worry to much while you keep drawing and keep drawing, youre obviously on the right track!

You're way ahead of the game in terms of technical skill. All that studying is paying off for you! What are your goals with this? Knowing what direction you want to move in will help us give you a more informed critique.

Thats a difficult question now that im actually thinking about it...probably for now jsut to improve my technical skills, im particularly interested in drawing figures so with a focus on anatomy and gesture? Ive also been focusing on my shading recently since its definitely a weak spot for me. Also thankyou so much for your time i really appreciate it:))
