Today's practice of gestures (using the bean) and structure

@andypandi
I'm working on the things that y'all pointed out to me in previous comments. I still need to work on my line quality and connecting the lines at the boxes and cylinders.

Gestures are coming along nicely! Continue to simplify and push the pose as you seem to have noted yourself on the page! Great job

Hey Andy. I think that what you are doing is good mainly if you are only sketching, make it looser for the line quality. I just want to say that if you'd like to enhance a bit more solid. i'd suggest limit your self to ONE pose. or ONE box for 15' each. This will help you better than just going from image to image getting all the gesture down (unless that's your goal at this point ) So solid and focus training is the key. Do note that you should also be mindful about the concepts you limited yourself with. for example what Dan B said. try being mindful with just that. You can also break the limit bit by bit by adding more things to think about like the gesture of .. idk a cylinder for example. Hope this help ya !

Hi Tom, thank you so much for your advice. I'm working on new drawings at the moment and taking into account the feedback received, but I have the question of whether you mean that I should focus on a single pose for today and try to break it down into gesture, structure and try to find the gesture in the structure instead of drawing multiple poses? Or did I not understand correctly?

Hey andy, good practice. For the boxes, before you start think about whether you are looking at the top or bottom of the box. See the attached diagram (3 & 4 point perspective would taper the vertical lines off the page away from the facing surfaces). The horizon plane can also be rotated for boxes at different angles, but the same rules apply. Second pic is with 3pt perspective.

Hey andy, remember when drawing cylinders, the the angle of the elipse determines the angle we are viewing it from. This means a thinner elipse will mean a the bodys vanishing point is further away making the lines diverge slower. When it comes to your gesture sketches, I think the best practice is to use overhand grip and work with exclusively csi lines. Hope all goes well and look forward to seeing your improvement.

Hey there! Great job so far! As far as I can see you are not drawing the lines from your shoulder, but from your wrist. That makes it terribly hard to create good-looking straight lines. Try using bigger movements with your entire hand and see the magic happen :)

Hi, thanks for the tip. Most of the time I tried to use my shoulder, but since I'm new to drawing standing / around 70 degrees and did not rotate the pad, I felt a bit uncomfortable while drawing at certain angles, which resulted in ugly lines and using the wrist a bit. I'll definitely pay more attention to it!
