Studying Snow Without Losing the Mood

Following the cold snap, I painted a snowy scene.
The soft, fluffy snow has such an atmospheric feel.
I tried to simplify the values while still finding a sense of balance within the variations.
This winter Shirakawa-go in Japan, with its gassho-zukuri village houses, was especially fun to study for value distribution.
This is beautiful and nicely composed. The range of values really hightlights (no pun intended) the blankets of snow.

Thank you for sharing your observations and insights with me!
I’d love to have the chance to experience the feeling of touching snow in person someday.

This is great! You captured a sense of stillness and quietness after a huge snowfall.
@Ash Thanks for the encouragement! Snowy scenery isn’t very common in my country, so I really long to see snowfall in person someday.
