Nice painting, and coloring for contours. It may be helpful to look at the rib cage to breast transition in an anatomy book or two. The breast emergence from the rib cage has the the ribs looking a bit more concave under the breast than they should. Think about rounding out the chest a bit, chest pectorals on top of ribs, the breast tissue on top of pectorals. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks Chris! Yes this is helpful. It's interesting that you point this out because I was having a lot of trouble with the subtle transition between the breast and the ribs. Even now when I look at it something is not working and you may have hit the nail on the head.

This is looking quite interesting. One curious question though, how did you achieve this "thin" brush stroke? By manually applying each and every single one of them? Or maybe a comb like brush?

The oil paint is thinned with medium and I apply a thin coat of gel medium to the spots I'm working on for that session. I use a small brush and with the combination of mediums I can get the strokes to go down fluidly. Every stroke is done with a single Monarch brush from Windsor Newton. It doesn't take as long as you would think. What takes the longest is the multiple layers I do. I'm on a life journey right now to do art every single day for the rest of my life. I'm close to my 9 year mark! So I'm logging everything like crazy and you can see the entire progress of this painting on my website. https://chrisbeaven.com/paintings/curvature/

the only thing i would crit is the color you picked for her left leg. with the strong blue tint it kinda pops out more then the right leg with its flesh tone. the values are fine but the color itself kinda puts it into the "foreground" in term of attention when you look at it.

Whoa! great point. I'm going to have to darken that leg and push it back. I totally didn't notice till you said something. Super helpful! Thank you!
