It’s a rhino! Any critiques??

Hi everyone :) I just finished this rhino speedpaint and would be very grateful for some new eyes on him - does anything jump out at you as needing fixing? I wanted him to look young and super solid, like if you accidentally drove a truck into this guy the truck would come off second best! Thank you 🦏🦏🦏

The middle of his back is hanging too low, like a hammock. I'd go with a straight line to counter balance the curve in his belly and give him some more stability. I don't know without your reference, but the hump behind his ears looks like some kind of growth. If that's how it was, maybe you could play down the contrast by darkening down the brights so it doesn't stand out so much and distract from the head

Thanks Peter 👍 yes that’s what his head and ears looks like in the reference and I agree it looks a bit odd.

Oh, what a cutie! Hmmm.... I think maybe his stomach area? His stomach and his back have the same round rhythmic arc, which somehow makes him look a little bendy and softer. I think if you gave him more of an armored look like you see on some rhino sides, he'd look even more tough :)

The only thing that jumps out at me is the outline around the head is a little heavy. I really like the shading/color gradient to create excellent forms. I like the color choices and the Purple below the belly really grounds him to the brown ground he is standing on. I would not want to walk up on him in the bush. nice job!

This is gorgeous! Love the colours and the textures. He looks pretty realistic and anatomically correct to me. I suppose if you want to give the impression that the truck would come off second best maybe adding something to give it context for size might help or using block edges but really it already looks good to me.

Hi! It's looking quite good!! In my opinion if you want to have some "young force" to it, maybe you could try buff out the muscles? Maybe if you can go with some artistic exaggeration that doesn't really align with the anatomy? Rhinos looks to me are mostly "dull and lazy" on television, they seem to have saggy skin. Maybe you can give it a pose that have more potential, like something indicating it's "preparing for a jump"?

Wonderful creature and wonderfully drawn :) Only thing I would try is to put the blue patch behind its head to draw attention there. I'm not sure it'll work, but worth trying...

To me, nothing jumps out as needing fixing! I might desaturate the blue in the sky a bit, to remove some tension from that area, but otherwise it's rocking!
