Horse from start to finish + tip

Okay, what I was doing up until now was trying to draw a horse the way the masters do- from scratch. Fast, confident a few hand movements and boom, the horse is there. I completely underestimated the hard work behind getting to that level. And me not having it! I did not even see horse live! Or have not drawn them ever. So what was I thinking?! Lack of experiences lack of time yet huge ambitions= great disappointment and it did happen. I was not happy result at all! The result? Rushing. Expecting a cool outcome. So I told myself: nothing good will come out of doing it like this. Instead, I changed my approach. I painted a wall, then went on my bike to pick up some things in the city while thinking about how a horse’s head actually works. When I came back to the atelier, refreshed, I slowly started breaking the horse skull down into simple shapes I could remember and reconstruct anytime I want. I interrupted my process after each period of deep focus to clear my mind again, and over time I developed a roadmap for how to construct a horse on paper. I’d like to share the process of my work in this short GIF, to give you an idea of what the journey can look like — the kind of process that eventually leads you to drawing the horse you want. I hope it inspires people to improve their drawing, plan better, and do some useful things between drawing sessions… and, in the end, to add a new skill to an actual skillset👍

Okay guys, I haven’t given the horses a rest!! 🙄🔥in fact, I’ve given the horses absolutely no break, 🥱😂I’ve kept working on them. There’s still a mountain of work to climb- i feel still weaknesses- but many of them I think I managed to eliminate. I am sure that many of them I do not see yet. That is why I’d like to share my latest piece. The feedback I go on my previous posts helped me actually understand what I was doing, and where I need to work harder. which let me push this one further. I’d be super grateful for any amount of feedback you can give. even the tiniest crumbs. Thank you so much!

Ok, it has been a while since my last post. I have not been standing still and kept drawing. Especially horses — they have pushed me to study form and anatomy more, and to work on my almost zero skills in line weight and line art. It’s wonderful how one subject can teach you so much. Here is my current work that I made today. Am I happy? Yes and no. Yes, progress is there, but it still needs to be much better organized. That’s why I would like to ask for your opinion: where do you see room for improvement?
