Help needed for card

Hi! I'm making a card for my neighbour who's dad passed away last week. The idea is to draw a person sitting that has this glowing light in between his hands. I wanted to make the person just as very simple figure with no clear features. I'm quite happy with it, though any critique or feedback on this is welcome. What I could use some help for though is the lighting of the drawing. The light will just be coming from the Little light in between his hands. I gave it a try myself with a quick sketch before I start on the actual drawing, but i'm not sure whether it makes any sense. I'm definitely going to make the light even lighter in value compared to the person, because now there isn't that clear of a difference. I would be really happy with any help so It can make it a bit better :)

I'd say it makes sense, it's dark enough to understand the light is coming from behind the hands, and the light on the rest of the body is coming from the same point. Maybe you could indeed go deeper into your values, make your lights lighter and your shadows darker. Why don't you use a reference of yourself ? It's a good habit to get, whenever you're stuck with poses or lightning. Get a light source powerful enough with the lights off and you should get a pretty good reference.

Great to know that it makes some sense, though I know some stuff about values, I haven't really done any focused practice into it yet. Definitely going to try to make the shadows darker. I actually used myself a bit as a reference for the pose when I got stuck a bit with how to draw the arms! Haven't tried doing it for lighting stuff yet, thanks for the tip and for answering! :)
