Helloo! I just finished my first digital portrait in color. I tried to keep the proportions and colors accruate. But I have to admit that the background is pretty lame. Feedback is reallyyyyy apreciated :)
Thanks in advance

I agree with what our fellows said, @W.I.M.U, your choices of color make the light feel believable and harmonious - great job! I’m onboard with Grace regarding the neck - besides that, solid forms and construction of the face volumes. And, personally, I really like the “degree of looseness” of your brushwork. Keep it up!

Thank you! I still have work to do on the structure of the head.I had a lot of fun experimenting the brushes effects in this painting, so I'm glad you point it. Your point of view is key for my art journey so thank you so much again Liandro!

Hi! I think the background works great - just enough there to give some context without taking away from the portrait. I think you’ve done a superb job of indicating his eyes through his shades, and this is a believable portrait full of character.

Hi W.I.M.U,
First, may I say that Wow! This painting is beautiful!
Personally, I like the background. I think you made a good choice to keep it simple, keeping his detailed face the focus. And because you included the blue of the sky reflecting on the side of his face and shirt collar, he looks like he fits in with the environment nicely.
I do have a suggestion on something else, though. To me, his head looks a little separate from his neck and the background. What if you widened his neck on the right to help his head fit on better, like this? Also, softening the edges of his face against the background might help, too. Then again, your reference might look different--it's just my two cents.
This is so beautiful to me! I especially love how painterly your strokes are! Keep up the great work!
