Figure Drawing

I haven't done a figure/gesture drawing in a while, so I'm glad that I have still retained some skill. Any thing that I can improve on?

Hey Caleb! Good job! You're definitely getting the hang of it. The first thing that stands out to me is the photo of the drawing itself. The way it was taken skews the drawing a bit to make them distorted. A photo that is taken directly over the art will prevent any distortion and make it easier for people to crit your work. Your proportions are solid, and your shapes are getting there but it feels like you're copying the shapes instead of interpreting them. What I'd say is to simplify your drawings a bit more. As @Crystal Blue (she/her) says, keep your lines more continuous. The way it is right now, the lines conflict with the gesture of the drawing and kill the flow. I'd recommend watching @Mike Mattesi's videos on Drawing with the FORCE Method – Mike Mattesi , he does a really good job explaining how a drawing can be extremely strong with just gesture lines. Hope this helps!

The perspective looks really good! You could focus on making your lines more continuous and less scratchy. Also I’m not sure if you were going for a fully shaded drawing, but if you were fill in the shadows all the way instead of lines and push the darks. nice work though!
